Kristen Jesse - Varsity Head Coach
Kristen Jesse is the new varsity lacrosse coach at Northview High School. As a new Georgia resident, she is excited to find a place in the lacrosse community. Coming from a soccer background, Kristen was excited to make the move to lacrosse. She grew up playing soccer as a kid, and played for James F. Byrnes High School in Spartanburg. She was a varsity captain her final year, but played varsity for four years.
After high school, Kristen went on to the University of South Carolina and majored in Elementary Education, then received her Masters in Special Education with a focus on severe and multiple disabilities. After college, Kristen began teaching in Columbia, SC at Muller Road Middle School where she was the soccer coach. She then moved to Myrtle Beach and taught high school for two years. This is where her love of lacrosse began. She was hired as the varsity girls lacrosse coach. Although she didn’t play, she quickly picked up the sport and over two years got the newly formed team to their first win, also making playoffs in their third year as a program.
After getting married in October 2016, the Jesses decided it was time to move back to their home, Georgia. Kristen accepted a position teaching at Northview, and quickly found herself in a coaching position. She is very excited for the upcoming season! You can reach her at
Patrick O'Connell - Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach O'Connell is in his fourth year coaching the Titans. He is a US Lacrosse Level 2 certified coach. He rejuvenated the Jr Titans program where he coached for 4 years and the Tiny Titans for 2 years. Coach O'Connell played at Georgia Tech where he was team president, player coach and leading scorer. He was inducted into the Georgia Tech Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2016. Afterwards he traveled with Atlanta Lacrosse Club where he also leading scorer. Little known is that while at Georgia Tech he was interviewed by Channel 11, was pictured in Lacrosse Magazine and appeared in a network movie with some of his teammates. Currently he works for Georgia Transmission Corporation and he is additionally helping students by providing co-op opportunities to NHS and Johns Creek area graduates.
Stephanie Zavlanos - Junior Varsity Head Coach
Stephanie Zavlanos has been the Junior Varsity Head Coach at Northview High School for 8 years and is looking forward to starting her 9th season with the Titans. She is starting her 10th year teaching at Northview High School and in addition to coaching, she sponsors the 9th grade class council for the school.
